giving for good fargo

Every dollar donated across the Fargo region is making a difference for local patients, families and employees. Through philanthropy, lifesaving care is offered close to home at facilities like the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center, the Sanford Broadway Medical Center, and at our Thief River Falls and Mayville medical centers.

Last year, we put $6.3 million in philanthropic gifts to work across the Fargo region.

In partnership with our valued supporters, we make programs like the Teiken Academy, the new Veterans Lounge inside the Sanford Broadway Medical Center, the new micropreemie program inside the NICU at Sanford Children’s, and our world-class bone marrow transplant program at the Roger Maris Cancer Center possible.

Local Priorities

The Sanford Health Foundation serves four diverse regions, each with their own distinct and meaningful priorities. Here are some of the initiatives that the Fargo region supports.

For Children

A world of hope and healing can be found at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo, home to the state’s only Level II pediatric trauma unit and the region’s most comprehensive NICU and PICU through vital services like Child Life, school tutoring, music therapy, Cully’s Cabin, community services like Safe Kids Fargo-Moorhead and so much more.

For Breast Health

Gifts to the Fargo Edith Sanford Breast Center Fund help supplement the costs of lifesaving MRIs and 3D mammograms, supports services like nurse navigation, genetic counseling and survivorship programming at no cost to patients and funds cutting-edge equipment and technology to improve breast cancer detection and treatment.

For Cancer

We give more hope, healing and comfort to patients through the Reimagine campaign. This initiative supports the region’s first bone marrow transplant program at Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center, the three-year Hematology and Oncology Fellowship, and non-billed services like nurse navigation, genetic counseling, survivorship programming, massage therapy, healing arts and so much more.
